The pressure is on most of us to produce results quickly. In photography, it is seldom possible to wait for perfect weather conditions. That's where digital enhancement can come to the rescue; a dreary, overcast day can be made to look bright and cheerful and imperfections such as over-flying birds or litter can be removed from the image. This can be done without risking misrepresentation of the subject and giving rise to legal consequences.
Example One In this first example, although
the shoot was at dusk as requested, when the subject property
was in optimal lighting, the sky remained a pale grey. In
the final result, the image has been cropped, verticals corrected
and a night sky has been added.

Example Two Here again, a more inviting sky has been added, the distant haze has been reduced by adding graduated contrast and the image has been cropped to bring the attention to the main subject.

Example Three In this more extreme example, legal issues were not a real concern; the prime objective was to create a dramatic image. The sky, foreground and background have all been replaced. The vehicle headlights have been given "starbursts" and particular attention has been given to the window areas.
